A checklist of what to bring with you to open a Seed Checking Account1:

  • $50 minimum opening deposit
  • Your government-issued photo ID
  • Your child's government-issued photo ID (if none, your child's birth certificate and Social Security card)
  • Your child’s Social Security number (Social Security card may be requested)

1. Account opening and debit card issuance are subject to approval.

  • We recommend Seed for children beginning at about 12 years old. We encourage talking to your child about the importance of financial responsibility and how to use a debit card. An adult co-owner is ultimately financially responsible for the account so every parent should decide what’s right for their child and family.

  • Seed is specifically designed for children under the age of 18. However, because your child is underage, a parent (or adult guardian) needs to share ownership of the account. Your child will receive their own debit card, and can register for their own Online and Mobile Banking access. As the adult co-owner, you will be financially responsible for the account.

  • Yes, if you open an account at a branch, please come with your child and the items listed above.
